OXFORD – Is talk of the Olympics giving you a taste for all things Parisian?

You will find many of those tastes in the fresh foods available at the Oxford Farmers’ Market this Saturday: Scrumptious croissants in five flavors; eggs from happy hens along with goat chèvre and herbs to make classic French quiches and omelettes; fresh-picked crisp veggies for crudités; first-of-the-season onions, local hard cheeses and home-baked breads for a classic French onion soup; and sweet plump blueberries for crêpes. And while tomatoes and eggplant and peppers are not yet available in large quantities, they will be by the final weeks of the Olympics, just in time to make a classic ratatouille.

The Oxford Farmers’ Market is open Saturdays, 9 am to noon on Saturdays in Lafayette Park.
