COOPERSTOWN – The Unadilla Valley Storm PONY League baseball team played one final game on Sunday morning against the Lexington All-Stars from Massachusetts. UV fell 13-1 in the extra contest, which was played at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown.
UV was held to one hit, which turned into an RBI single for Zayne Dibbell. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth with one out, Dibbell drove in John Lewis, who led off the inning with a walk, with a hard ball to left field.
Shyla Roberts also reached base with a walk as Reed Osborne reached on an error and Nolan Lewis and Declan Potter reached on hit by pitches. Potter started on the mound and also led the team with one stolen base. Potter went three innings, allowing five runs, one earned, on three hits, five walks, and had one strikeout in the loss.
Nolan Lewis entered in the fourth inning and went an inning and a third. He allowed eight earned runs on three hits, and two walks. Reed Osborne finished the game, just giving up one hit and a walk while striking out one batter.
