NORWICH — Otselic Valley Fishing and Heritage Association (OVFHA)Vice-Chair Michael Foor-Pessin welcomes all to join the first of two free reading programs from 4 to 8 p.m., July 31, at the Chenango County Historical Society (CCHS) Museum, located at 45 Rexford Street.
“The free presentation is a great opportunity to be part of living history and is open to all,” said Foor-Pessin. “The program will be held in the Loomis Barn and you don’t have to be signed up for the reading program to attend.”
The book selected for this reading will be “Journey Through Chenango: Land of the Oneidas” written and presented by Daniel Koch.
“Members of the Oneida Nation will join Koch in the presentation to address the critical revolutionary time in America's history,” Foor-Pessin said.
“The book gives a depth of information regarding the evolving heritage of central New York and the United States and revisits the revolutionary era from 1774 to 1783, when the Oneida Nation and other Haudenosaunee Nations engaged in helping American Patriots secure the war over the British,” said Foor-Pessin.
