Tri-County Horseshoe League: Betty’s Boys moves back into the fifth spot as Octagon rolls on

CHENANGO COUNTY – The Tri-County Horseshoe League wrapped up its 16th week as of August 1. From last week, the standings were a bit shaken up, but everyone is now sitting comfortably, aside from the close battle in the middle with fifth, sixth, and seventh place.

Dam Team had inched ahead of Betty’s Boys for fifth place last week, but Betty’s Boys reclaimed the spot after week 16. Betty’s Boys has been shifting from sixth to fifth throughout the season with teams on their tail. Dam Team only trails Betty’s Boys by six points and is one point ahead of Ticknors, which has had their share of the fifth spot in week 13. It should be an interesting sight to watch out for in the upcoming weeks until the season ends in September.

Coming off a bye week, Octagon picked up 11 points to continue to hold a steady lead after defeating Pond Crew 11-5. Betty’s Boys II continues to trail Octagon and is 12 points behind. Betty’s Boys II earned a 12-4 victory over Dam Team while Riverside pulled out the 10-6 win over Ticknors. Betty’s Boys defeated Bowlodrome 11-5 as Chuggers won over Seebers 10-6. Hilltop stayed put in the eighth spot with a bye week.

The Tri-County Horseshoe League meets every Thursday night until the season concludes in September.
