CHENANGO COUNTY — The Chenango County Fair has returned for its 177th year with games, rides, exhibits, entertainment, and more.
Parking is free for the Chenango County Fair, and admission is $8 for individuals 13 years old and older, $5 for youth aged 6 to 12 years old, and free for children 5 years old and younger.
The five-day event features daily entertainment including Chee Chee the Clown, a woodcarver, the petting zoo, a flower show by the Garden Clubs of Chenango County, the Tired Iron Ag and Tractor Display, The PowerHouse, Lew-E's Comedy Circus, and Robin's Heavenly Birds. Additionally, Coleman Brothers rides and carnival games open each day at 2 p.m.
DCMO BOCES will also be at the fair each day in the conservation area with children's activities, cosmetology and barbering displays and demonstrations, heavy equipment displays and demonstrations, career exploration information, a computer networking display, health and safety demonstrations, job opportunities, student projects, interactive experiences, and a sensory area for kids.
"There’s a lot of kids that may have some sensory issues like with noise and that kind of stuff, or it’s too hot," said Chenango County Fair Spokesperson Jason Lawrence. "They have a sensory location down there in a tent, and they have an air conditioner in there, and they have a lot of sensory, stimulation stuff."
"In the future they’re going to have a building there. They’re in the process of planning that now," he added.
