GILBERTSVILLE – Butternut Valley Grange, Gilbertsville, is sponsoring a health program, open to the public at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 12.
In conjunction with the Patient-Centered Research Institute, working with the National Grange, this program centers around critical needs of people living in rural areas.
The first program covers the questions of Advanced Directives and why individuals should have them in place. It also includes MOLST (Medical Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment) forms. The 4Ms will enlighten the audience on What matters? Mobility, Medication, and Mentation and how each affects one’s quality of life.
Presenters include Laura Palada and Maryanne Campbell, both RN instructors and Tammy Christman from Helios Care, Oneonta.
The one-hour program will be held in the dining room of the Grange Hall, 7 Bloom Street, Gilbertsville.
There is no cost to the program with appropriate handouts to accompany the presentations. A second program in the series will be given on Monday October 14, covering other aspects of health care including ways to make one’s home more user friendly for continued ability to stay home longer and various grant monies available for home renovations.
Questions about the program can be directed to Roger Halbert 607-783-2691.
