CHENANGO COUNTY — The Garden Clubs of Chenango County are hosting their annual flower show in the Exhibition Hall at the Chenango County Fair, and encourage the public to stop by and see Chenango County's very best flowers.

The Garden Clubs of Chenango County is made up of the Norwich Garden Club, Norwich Town and Country Garden Club, and the Oxford Garden Club. The three groups come together throughout the year to provide educational events at the Guernsey Memorial Library and Oxford Memorial Library, as well as host the annual flower show at the fair.

The show features arrangements and designs in a variety of categories, as well as a horticulture section showcasing the very best specimens of flowers and plants from Chenango County gardeners and flower enthusiasts.

This year, the show included 206 specimens from 29 different participants in the horticulture class, and 21 designs from 19 designers in the design class. Design categories and themes included anniversary table arrangements, Mother's Day breakfast in bed displays, wedding arrangements, fairy garden containers, "Autumn Splendor" collages, and "Summer Sizzle" displays.

Displays in each category were judged by nine members of the Federated Garden Club from Central New York, and awarded first, second, or third place, or honorable mention.
