Potter’s Tires Back In Control Of SNB Horseshoe Club
Published: August 13th, 2024

SOUTH NEW BERLIN – After a brief stand still in the previous week, which moved them to second place, Potter’s Tires gets back in control of the South New Berlin Horseshoe Club. Billy Schermerhorn and John Edwards are settling in with a 3.5 game lead after the week of August 7, ahead of Rustic Ridge’s Ron Anderson and George Hanslmaier, who led the standings briefly on July 31.

Kelly’s Flowers (Ed Kohler/Lee Coon), who won the 2022 title, slid into the third hole after some time in the fifth position. Prolifiq Sign Studio’s Tresta Smith and Kate Lloyd move to fourth with Webster Paving (Ed Webster/Bob Wells) rounding out the top five teams. All top five teams are close to being shaken up each week, being only a game or two behind one another, so it’ll definitely be a fight to the finish.

Potter’s Tires also took two of the team leaderboards with a win at the high singles and high series over Kelly’s Flowers and Rustic Ridge. Kelly’s Flowers won the two team handicap high singles and high series. Schermerhorn earned the high series victory for the men with a 190 and tied with Lee Coon in third for the men’s high singles. Larry Shaw of Old Skool Lawnmower Repair & Service won the men’s high singles with a 69.

Kate Lloyd swept the women’s high singles and high series over teammate Tresta Smith and Lisa Webster. Lloyd’s highest game was a 50 over Smith’s 36 and Webster’s 30. Lloyd then had an impressive series of a 125 ahead of Smith’s 81 and Webster’s 67.

Stafford Builders’ Al Bush and Al Patten now go by the team name of Oneonta Garage Doors and currently sit in 10th place with an even 24-24 record.

The South New Berlin Horseshoe Club meets every Wednesday night until the season concludes.
