NORWICH — The Chenango Arts Council is excited to announce their 2024/25 performance season, which promises to be their biggest yet. Audiences will delight in spectacle, music, dance, and a variety of genres.
First up will be Dolly! And Her All Star Band on Saturday, September 28. Made up of country musicians from Nashville, Tennessee, the group is headlined by Grand Ole Opry veteran Natasha Neely, appearing as Dolly Parton. Songs and stories from the icon’s life will be presented, with humor and glitzy costumes that capture the spirit of the country legend.
Film & Strings: Nosferatu will be Chenango Arts Council’s terrifyingly fun Halloween show, taking place Saturday, October 19. The original vampire movie, 1922’s "Nosferatu: A Symphony of Terror" will be on the big screen once more. Just as when it first premiered, a live band will be playing alongside. Elizabeth Simchik will be on violin, Kristen Kopf on cello, Jeff Ingersoll on electric guitar, and Monke Rowe will play piano and flute. Together they will perform a specially arranged score that will capture the mood of the film and allow audiences to experience it as originally intended.
On Friday, December 13, Twelve Twenty Four will bring their popular holiday rock to the Martin W. Kappel Theater. Inspired by the greatest rock orchestras, they will put a thrilling spin on uplifting Christmas classics. It is sure to be a highlight of the holiday season.
New York Theatre Ballet will present "The Royal Collection" on April 12, 2025. This enchanting performance will be fit for a king or queen. Excerpts from beloved ballets such as "Sleeping Beauty," "Cinderella," and "Firebird" will enthrall ballet lovers and those just discovering the dance form. The beauty of the performances will be amplified by the stunning costumes and timeless tales.
