CHENANGO COUNTY — The Chenango Arts Council, located at 27 West Main Street in Norwich, is seeking instructors to teach art and craft workshops.
"We’re always looking for any kinds of instructors for art classes. We’re getting a great response, but we’re always excited to offer different things. We’re particularly interested in ceramics instructors, but everybody is welcome," said Chenango Arts Council Administrative Assistant Mary Beth Miller.
She said the organization is open to individuals with the desire to teach anything creative, from traditional media such as drawing and painting, to crafters looking to teach things like knitting or creative writing.
"We’ve had a good response for that kind of class too, so we would definitely love to see that, too," said Miller. "We’ve had crochet and knitting classes and those have done very well. So if somebody wanted to do that kind of thing, that would be great."
Those interested in teaching a workshop should send a proposal to info@chenangoarts.org. Proposals should include a lesson plan, which includes what they would like to teach, supplies they need for the workshop, a flat rate or per-person fee, the age group they're interested in teaching, the class size they would like, and whether the workshop would be a single course, a series, or even a paint and sip-style class.
