NEW BERLIN – Preferred Mutual Insurance Company demonstrated its ongoing commitment to community service and animal welfare by supporting the Susquehanna SPCA (SQSPCA) through an item donation drive and a dedicated volunteer day on Wednesday, August 21.

Employees from Preferred Mutual came together to assist with various tasks at the shelter, contributing both time and resources to support the animals in need.

Preferred Mutual’s employee donation drive yielded a collection of essential items for the shelter, including nearly 500 pounds of dog food, over 100 cans of cat food, 154 pounds of kitty litter, 44 toys, 52 rolls of paper towels, and 116 trash bags, among other essentials. These contributions will help the SQSPCA continue to provide care for the animals and support local pet owners.

To further support the SQSPCA’s mission, Preferred Mutual presented a donation of $2,500 to the organization.

During the volunteer day, Preferred Mutual employees bagged pet food for distribution through the SQSPCA's Sparky Pet Food Pantry, prepared dog treats by stuffing KONG toys with peanut butter and treats, walked dogs, and socialized cats to help with the animals’ daily enrichment times. In addition, employees had the opportunity to tour the SQSPCA facility, gaining insight into the different parts of the organization and its vital work in the community.
