Oxford Memorial Library Summer Reading Program Celebrates Participation
Published: August 28th, 2024

OXFORD- Oxford Memorial Library patrons had a blast with this year's Summer Reading Program.

We had 48 adults registered in our Adult Summer Reading program. Participants won tote bags each week and read 240 books.

Our grand prize winners for the Adult Summer Reading were Christine Long who was awarded a gift card to Roma’s and Elizabeth Solewater (most books read) won a gift card to The Stadium.

We would like to thank Roma’s and The Stadium for their support of The Oxford Memorial Library and our summer reading programs.

Our Youth Summer Reading Program activities were a lot of fun. To kick off our Summer Reading Program in June we had a performance from Green Golly and Her Golden Flute. In July we decorated reusable water bottles, walked around the library garden and made nature rubbings, learned about ciphers and secret messages, had a "Flights of Fantasy" Program, and celebrated the Summer Reading Program Finale by playing outside with chalk and bubbles!

We were able to give away books to every kid who signed up for summer reading and they won prizes for filling out their reading logs.
