OXFORD — Chenango County Habitat for Humanity (CCHH) will be hosting their annual yard sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 12 and Friday, September 13, as well as from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, on Route 12 in Oxford next to the Mirabito Gas Station.
There will be a variety of items available for sale, including adult and children’s clothing, a crib and mattress, books, holiday items, a heater, small appliances, games, two sewing machines, golf clubs, toys, jewelry, fabric, jelly jars, antique lamps, crafts, miniature animal figurines, shoes and boots, tables, chairs, and much more.
CCHH Promotional Development Committee Chairperson Audrey Johnson said the items in the yard sale are provided through donations from individuals and groups. The yard sale is also entirely run by volunteers.
"People really enjoy coming to the sales, and our volunteers really enjoy it. They find it’s fun, enjoyable, and [they enjoy] the connection with people," she said. "Last year we had around 60 volunteers, so I anticipate we’re going to have a large number."
In the past, she said local businesses have sent employees to volunteer at the fundraiser. Last year, volunteers from GE/Unison and UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital lent a hand.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward Habitat for Humanity's home renovation and repair efforts.
