CHENANGO COUNTY — The Chenango Arts Council, located at 27 West Main Street in Norwich, is hosting a fundraiser that will take participants on a wine and cider tasting journey along Route 89.
Chenango Arts Council Administrative Assistant Mary Beth Miller said the trip will be on Saturday, October 5, with a luxury bus departing the Arts Council at 9:30 a.m. Participants will get to take in the beautiful fall scenery as they travel to Finger Lakes Cider House in Interlaken, with an estimated arrival time of 11:30 a.m.
"We’re going to make a couple of stops on the tour, and the first one is going to be at the Finger Lakes Cider House. They have a restaurant at the cider house, so people are going to be able to purchase lunch," said Miller. "They have a sustainable farm where a lot of farmers work together to grow produce for sale to the public, and also for the restaurant that’s on site. So we’ll be touring the cider making facilities, and also the farm, and that will be a walking tour."
The visit to the Finger Lakes Cider House will also include a cider tasting during the 1 p.m. tour.
After that, the bus will depart for the Hosmer Winery in Ovid, where guests can enjoy a sampling of wines around 3 p.m.
