MASONVILLE - On September 4, at approximately 11:29 p.m., New York State Police responded to a residence on Houck Road in the town of Masonville for a reported domestic dispute.

As a result of an investigation,  Drew J. Garnier, age 32 of Masonville, NY has been charged with the class “A-I” felony of Murder in the second degree and two counts of attempted Murder in the second degree.

The investigation determined that Garnier stabbed his pregnant wife, Samantha J. Garnier, age 29 and two children. 

S. Garnier was located inside the residence and was rendered aid by Troopers and Sheriff’s Deputies prior to EMT’s arrival. 

S. Garner was airlifted to Wilson Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries. One child was taken to Wilson Medical Center but later transferred to Upstate Medical Center. A second child was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center.  Both children are expected to survive.

D. Garnier was arrested on scene and taken to A.O Fox Hospital and upon release, processed at SP Sidney.  D. Garnier was transported to the Delaware Correctional Facility for Centralized Arraignment.   He was remanded to the Delaware Jail on no bail.

New York State Police were assisted on scene by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Village of Sidney Police Department, Village of Walton Police Department, Village of Delhi Police Department, LifeNet, Walton Fire Department, AMR/Delaware County Ambulance, Trout Creek Fire Department, Sidney EMS and Ambulance.
