SHERBURNE – The opening rounds of the Sherburne-Earlville soccer kick-off tournament were held Thursday afternoon at the Granville Hill Road grass fields. The S-E stadium is under construction with the installation of artificial turf and a new track and could see completion after the fall season, leaving the soccer teams using Granville fields for the 2024 home games.

This year’s tournament features Norwich, Sherburne-Earlville, and Oxford for the girls with being short a team this year while the boys are loaded with S-E, Oxford, Unadilla Valley/GMU, and Vernon-Verona Sherill.

Norwich girls, coming off their home opener against Waverly, faced Sherburne-Earlville while the Sherburne-Earlville boys hosted V-VS for their season opener.

The tournament resumes on Friday and concludes on Saturday.
