GREENE – There is nothing like playing on your home course. Take that from the Greene Trojans golf team, or any team for that matter, who went into a tough competition against neighboring Oxford on Thursday and dominated. Greene handed Oxford, who won their first three matches, their first loss with a 208-240 victory at the Genny.
Top golfers for both teams were indeed Parker Flanagan for Greene and Bennett Paden for Oxford, that have had success in the past seasons and played in sectionals in the spring. Flanagan led all golfers with a 34 on the par-35. Paden led the Blackhawks with a 41.
Greene’s Keaton Browning showed strength with finishing with a 38 as Lincoln Youngs had a 40. Carter Williamson improved his game with shooting a 44 with Trent Drew capping off with a 52 and Logan Roth a 57.
