NORWICH - The grand opening of the Chenango County Republican headquarters was held Tuesday, September 3 at about 2:30 p.m. at the Norwich Copies Plus Building at 6 East Main Street in Norwich.
This is the same location that has been used for the Republican headquarters for a number of years. Several Republican representatives, whose districts cover part or all of Chenango County, were present and gave speeches before a large enthusiastic crowd that filled the headquarters.
Attending were State Senator Peter Oberacker, Congressman Marc Molinaro, Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan, and Assemblyman Joe Angelino, who were joined by Chenango County Republican Committee Chairman Bill Acee. Preston Supervisor Zach Meseck represented State Senator Griffo by reading a brief statement from him.
Committee Secretary Gilda Ward reflected on the speakers: "All of these Republican representatives have served Chenango County well and deserve to be re-elected to their positions to continue their great service to their districts."
After the presentations, Chairman Bill Acee introduced Republican County Family Court Judge Candidate Diane DiStefano, who presented her vast experience and qualifications for the new family court judge position.
The Headquarters is serving as a hub of Republican election activity in helping to educate voters and get out the vote. It serves as a location to disseminate Republican candidate information and materials. This is a crucial election year. The results of this Election will determine the future of our nation, our state, and our county.
Afterwards, the Republican representatives, along with Chenango Republican County Committee Officers and Members, and some of the enthusiastic attendees gathered outside to celebrate the Grand Opening with a Ribbon-Cutting in front of the large windows of their Headquarters. Many cheered as Chairman Bill Acee and Assemblyman Joe Angelino cut the scarlet ribbon held by a line-up of Republican candidates, Republican Committee Officers, and other attendees.
