OXFORD – The Oxford Blackhawks volleyball team is ready to serve the ball for the 2024 season under a new coaching staff. Head coach Dean Curtis, along with assistants Kristin Seiler and Renee Johnson, are looking forward to a great season.
Curtis is bringing his long-tenured 39 years of volleyball experience with coaching and officiating to this Oxford program, who won the MAC title in 2022 and made a sectionals run in 2023.
While Curtis is new to this Oxford program, the team brings back a handful of key players set to return to the court with Emerson LaMonica, Kassidy Miller, Olivia Oliver, Emmalee Reiss, and Abigail Stone. New to the varsity program are Fianna Caulkins, Breanne Charles, Dixie Gray, Addison Howe, Elizabeth Ingraham, Trinity Jones, Kelsey Loiselle, Reagan Long, and Margaret Rovente. Trinity Jones is the team’s lone senior this season.
Curtis is impressed with the growth of the program and his team has been working hard at fine-tuning the barrel system and focused on making adjustments at each position.
“ I’m excited to be a part of the program and the girls have put in the work, with some even playing club volleyball and in our preseason, to show that they want to be here,” Curtis said.
Oxford is eager to get on the court against local league opponents Bainbridge-Guilford, Afton/Harpursville, Sidney, Greene, and Unadilla Valley. Check out their schedule on schedulegalaxy.com and searching for Oxford.
