NORWICH — This past month on August 20, The Place, The PULSE Coalition (Chenango Health Network), Tobacco Free Zone of Cortland, Tompkins, and Chenango Counties, and the City of Norwich Youth Bureau all collaborated to put on a "float-in" movie for our local teens.

This event was put on in order to promote substance-free yet fun activities our teens can participate in. Participating organizations donated snacks, drinks (hot chocolate was everyone's favorite), games, and floats for the movie.

Although the weather wasn't the sunniest, around 20 youths joined us at Kurt Beyer Pool and Park in Norwich to learn about our organization and, of course, watch "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl."

Everyone had a great time splashing around in the pool, meeting new friends, and playing yard games. This event couldn't have been possible without the help of all the lifeguards who watched over our guests, Brian Doliver of Guernsey Memorial Library who provided the movie equipment set up, and all of our volunteers!
