NORWICH — Saturday in the Park with Chobani returns to West Park for its ninth year on Saturday, September 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will continue every Saturday until October 26.
"We’re expanding and we’re just making it bigger and better," said Norwich Business Improvement District (BID) Board Member Mindy Chawgo.
This year's events will feature more than 50 local vendors, including some new to the weekly markets, music by Grady Thompson, coffee and treats available from Rolling Scones, an NBT Bank Shred Day on October 5, and much more.
"Chobani’s mission is letting no one go hungry, so we’re going to try to have a local food bank here on a couple of the Saturdays," said Chawgo. "So people can get their food here on a couple Saturdays and pick up not just the free Chobani, but also have some free groceries here as well. So that will be nice, a couple give back days."
"We have some new speakers, and we have some new farmers who are doing some new produce this year, and we have a new guy, he just started a microgreens company, local in Norwich. It’s really exciting," she continued. "We have some nonprofits coming, and we also have some kid entrepreneurs that are going to have some tents up this year."
