Oxford defeats UV/GMU

OXFORD – The Oxford Blackhawks and the Unadilla Valley/GMU Storm boys soccer teams met for a second time this season, this time in a regular MAC contest after playing in the Sherburne-Earlville soccer tournament.

Oxford picked up its second win of the season against the Storm with a 8-2 victory. Oxford improves to 5-1 on the season with just one loss to V-VS in the S-E tournament and is leading the MAC.

Oxford’s Gordon Smith led the team with three goals and also had one assist. Donovan Rickard adds on to his goal total as well with two goals and two assists. Paxton LaMonica also scored two goals and two assists while Jared Sheridan contributed with a goal and an assist.

Denzel Peter and Kyle Keuhn both scored for the Storm in the loss.

Oxford heads to B-G on Thursday while UV/GMU heads to Greene on Wednesday.
