GREENE — Apple lovers will be in their glory as the Greene Applefest brings everything apple to the Village.
The First United Methodist Church of Greene will sponsor the free family friendly 37th annual Greene Applefest from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., September 28, at 16 North Chenango Street, located in the ball flats.
Kicking off the morning, the Green Lions Club will offer barbecue chicken starting around 10:30 a.m.
According to the Greene Applefest Facebook page, there will also be an abundance of Pies, Welsh Cookies, Candy Apples, Cider, Donuts and Crisp apples ready to purchase along with other foods in the many vendors booths.
About 100 vendors will provide crafts, art, jewelry and more. A few of the vendors signed up are Finnlandia Farm, Handmade by Alicia, Wind Song Acres Soapery, 3 Sticks Outdoors and more.
The kids zone will have games for kids include bounces, face painting, puppet shows, giant bubbles, pumpkin painting, sack races and other exciting lawn games.
Additional excitement awaits with a new challenge added to the Applefest, The first Annual Run for the Apples. All runners and walkers were invited to join and register on line. Participants began logging miles mid September.
