PLYMOUTH - On Saturday, September 21, the Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested an Oxford resident following a violent family domestic dispute that allegedly involved a firearm.

Dungey, 34, of Oxford, and charged him with two counts of second degree menacing, for allegedly displaying a firearm; three counts of endangering the welfare of a child; and one count of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation.

Chenango County Sheriff’s deputies and New York State Troopers responded to a domestic dispute in the Town of Plymouth after getting a 911 call.

Prior to law enforcement arriving on scene, the Chenango County 911 Center was advised by the caller that a firearm was displayed.

Chenango County Sheriff Ernest R. Cutting reported, “Law enforcement arrived and secured the scene. After the investigation and speaking with witnesses it was found that Dungey arrived at the residence and was involved in an argument. The argument then escalated and turned physical. It was determined that during the physical altercation, Dungey displayed a loaded handgun and threatened the victims. This incident occurred in the presence of several children.”
