NORWICH - Commerce Chenango celebrated local businesses on Thursday, September 26, holding an appreciation event at a remarkably fast growing local business and thanking the organization's most dedicated community supporters.
At the event Commerce Chenango President and CEO Sal Testani thanked Director of the Chenango County Historical Society and active Chamber member Jessica Moquin.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have a member like Jessica, who is passionate about and dedicated to Chenango County. Her support makes the mission of Commerce Chenango possible and has a significant positive impact on our vibrant membership.”
“She has served on the board of Commerce Chenango, is always the first to volunteer at an event or donate a gift basket for a raffle, is a passionate Commerce Chenango newsletter reader and, most importantly, a faithful Commerce Chenango event attendee.”
Testani also highlighted the venue for the event, Rentals to Go (RTG).
“We are extremely grateful for your impact here in our community. It is felt. I feel that great sense of pride. Wherever I go, whatever event, I look for that RTG sign and everybody does that is from Norwich and from Chenango County. On behalf of all of us, thank you for the impact you've had here in our community, thank you,” said Testani.
The obvious signs of serious local investment and success by the company are hard not to notice.
Anyone driving along East River Road just outside of the City of Norwich has seen an incredible transformation over the last few years with herds of Longhorn steers now appearing along the roadside. It seems like new farm or commercial buildings, along with fleets of equipment, are being created with each passing season.
The company was founded in 2000 by Gary and Holly Brightman and operated with their three sons, Carter, Grant and Cole.
Gary was a career contractor many years ago and had to delay a job because it was a challenge to get portable toilets delivered to his work site. Wanting to solve the problem and seeing an opportunity he and Holly decided there must be a need for a portable toilet business in the area and so they created Rentals To Go with just 53 portable toilets and a single service truck.
Grant Brightman thanked Sal Testani and Commerce Chenango.
“Our team has worked hard over the last 20 years to make our headquarters here in Norwich as nice as possible for our nearly 120 Chenango County residents that come to work here every day.
“I'd like to take a moment to answer the question, 'Why? Why did RTG and the Brightman family start raising Longhorns?' The answer is simple: A picture.
We were looking for way to utilize our 80 acres of land one day in the fall of 2021, my dad sent my two brothers Carter and Cole and myself a picture of three Longhorns. He said 'Look! There's R, T and G.' We all said 'Wow, those are pretty cool.' A few months later we bought our first year Longhorns, R,T and G. That was spring of 2022, fast forward two and a half years, RTG ranch consists of over 150 head of Longhorn,” said Grant.
Rentals to Go has more than doubled its number of employees in the last year and half, hiring dozens of new people. The company now has several locations in New York, Texas, and Florida providing thousands of portable toilets, and hundreds of trucks and trailers.
As they continue to grow and expand, RTG remains committed to maintaining a safe work environment for employees and a family-like culture.
The company has expanded services to include bunk houses, campers, flushable restroom trailers, laundry facilities, mobile command centers, light towers, refrigeration units, water storage containers, temporary fencing, and generators.

RTG's office is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Their field operations work various hours based on the needs of their customers.
