SMYRNA — The Wolf Mountain Nature Center, located at 562 Hopkins Crandall Road in Smyrna, will be hosting their 18th annual Honoring the Spirit of the Wolf fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 20.

The festival was originally scheduled for October 13, but due to inclement weather the center had to postpone the event for the first time in 18 years.

Unfortunately, postponing the festival means many of the organizations who were originally going to attend are now unable to make it on October 20.

"I feel awful about it, but if we had tried to have it last weekend it would have been miserable," said Wolf Mountain Founder, Head Caretaker, and Wildlife Biologist Will Pryor. "People can still come out and have a good time and have some food and enjoy the animals. We’re hoping for a good turnout to help support us."

Attendees will get to see the center's wolves, coyotes, and foxes enjoy stuffed pumpkin treats, purchase food from Kandi's Kitchen Food Truck, or check out the informational booths from local environmental clubs and organizations such as Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center, hiking clubs, and forestry groups.

Pryor said although some things will be missing from the festival, it will still be a fun and educational day for all. Plus, attendees will get to enjoy the beautiful fall scenery at the center.
