WATERVILLE – After a tough setback against Phoenix last week, the Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves football team fought back against Jordan-Elbridge to pick up a nice 48-26 victory. This win qualifies S-E for the C2/D2 playoffs and with a win next week, the Timberwolves will earn home field advantage for the playoffs.

Both teams were off to a slow start with S-E leading 14-12 at halftime before putting up 34 unanswered points in the second half.

“We played with a lot of passion and heart,” S-E head coach Steve Franklin said. “ We played with everything we had. We had an effective run and strong pass game. We had a balanced attack on defense and made big stops. The boys knew how big this game was and they played their best football.”

S-E’s Hadden Price went seven for 10 in completions for 136 yards and threw for two touchdowns with one to Garrett Winton and the other to Nick Hull. Price also recovered a fumble on defense and ran the ball in for the score on offense. Winton was perfect as well kicking extra points, going six for six.

Hull also had a rushing touchdown and finished with 260 yards on offense from both run and receptions. He leads all of Section III football with a 589 receiving yards overall.
