CHENANGO COUNTY - The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office reported that on October 21, the South Abington Police Department in Pennsylvania assisted local investigators in locating and arresting Donald A.J. Shurock Jr.

According to police on October 17, a Chenango County deputy was called to a location on State Highway 26 in the Town of Pitcher for a suspicious vehicle complaint.

Upon arriving on scene, the deputy identified one of the occupants of the vehicle as Donald A.J. Shurock Jr., who has active warrants for his arrest. When the deputy attempted to take Shurock into custody, Shurock resisted arrest and fled the scene on foot, causing the deputy to sustain physical injury.

Additional officers and EMS arrived on scene and the deputy was transported to a local hospital and treated for a non-life threatening injury. In addition to the active arrest warrants, police said Shurock will face charges of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
