NORWICH — Aunt Mary’s House (AMH) President Jen Westervelt and Executive Director Brenda White give many thanks to community members, organizations, businesses and foundations for the overwhelming amount of support in reaching their goals to complete AMH, the safe haven for young mothers.
The non-profit organization located in Chenango County will provide emergency and transitional shelter to homeless pregnant and parenting young mothers 18-plus years of age and their babies, from pre-born to two years old.
White said they recently received donations from sfcu, Sidney Federal Credit Union, employees through their “Fund it Friday” program in the amount of $519. They also received $10,000 from Dr. Karen Banks Lindner and Richard Lindner from Hale Street Medical and $1,400 from the NY Spyderquest team members Glen Paul and Emily Wainen.
“We wish to send a heartfelt thank you and we are so grateful for the support and donations,” said White. “The support will truly help change lives right here in our own community.”
“We also have a tent at Saturdays in the Park with Chobani, where you can buy raffle ticket to win $200 in local gift cards, $20 in lottery tickets and a wine basket.” she added.
White said the last few months have been busy with volunteers lending a hand when needed. Alvogen, CV Free Church and the Norwich High School Purple Tornado Football team pitched in to support AMH and ready it for opening in a few months.
