SOUTH OTSELIC - A motor vehicle accident occurred at 4 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 16 and State Highway 26 in South Otselic.

One person was transported to the hospital by ambulance. A number of local fire departments responded. No other information was available by press time Friday morning, but the incident caused a power outage in the nearby area and traffic issues causing the Otselic Valley Central School to close for the day. The New York State Department of Transportation was still on scene at 10 a.m. and removing electrical debris and power lines from the roadway. The school posted online, “OVCS has pivoted to full-day closure based on recommendations from public safety officials working the scene of an accident at the intersection of County Road 16 and State Highway 26.
