WHITNEY POINT – Chenango County was well-represented at the Whitney Point Invitational on Tuesday with all three local cross country teams in action. Norwich, Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville, and Unadilla Valley/GMU runners had a solid day on the course. The BGAH girls had six runners, where they achieved a team score and took second place behind Delhi-South Kortright.
BGAH
Girls:
The BGAH girls were led by Maddie Ingham, Vanessa Brazee, Lelaenia Baldwin, Jalyn Winans, Laila Williams, and Ruth Wilson. Ingham, Brazee, Baldwin, and Winans all followed one another. Ingham finished 13th amongst all female runners with a time of 23:42.6, but finished seventh in terms of team scoring. Brazee followed in 14th, Baldwin in 15th, and Winans in 16th place, but in team scoring, Brazee finished eighth, Baldwin ninth, and Winans in 10th. Williams came in 26th place and in 18th per team scoring, with a time of 26:58.8 as Ruth Wilson finished 41st and 26th in team scoring with a time of 30:02.1.
Boys:
Owen Degan, Aiden Quick, and Connor Rowe led the BGAH boys team. Degan led the boys with a 12th place finish, achieving a time of 19:46.3 as Quick finished 43rd with a time of 22:52.7. Rowe finished 60th in a field of 72 male runners with a time of 25:18.3.
