NORWICH - Commerce Chenango is excited to announce their upcoming Thanksgiving Luncheon: set for Monday, November 18th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Bartholomew’s Parish Center on 81 East Main Street in Norwich. The event is sponsored by sfcu, Preferred Mutual Insurance Company and Unison, a GE Aerospace Company.
The public is invited to attend and enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal, compliments of Dickey’s BBQ, and live music provided by the Norwich High School Music Department.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Commerce Chenango asks that attendees bring a free will donation. Admission is free to two member representatives, and $25 for additional guests.
The night after the Thanksgiving Luncheon, there will be a free dinner at St. Bart’s parish center. This continues the Community Kitchen’s longstanding tradition of providing free meals on Tuesdays. If you would like to volunteer, call St. Bartholomew's office at 607-337-2215.
The St. Bart's community recently held their 71st annual Spaghetti Supper fundraiser, which is a volunteer run event. This year, they made over 1,500 meatballs to serve over the course of the weekend.
Volunteers from food banks in New Berlin, Unadilla, Norwich, McDonough, and Guilford will be at the event to collect all donated items. These food banks are in high need of specific items and would appreciate donations of the following: hearty soups (pull tab cans), canned ravioli/pasta (pull tab cans), apple/other juices (64oz), crackers (graham or other), cereal, microwaveable foods, knorr envelop products, instant potatoes, elbow macaroni, canned pork and beans, and diapers.
If you represent a food bank and would like to collect at this event, please contact Terri at tslater@chenangony.org.
