For those unfamiliar, the meaning of Grateful Dead, according to folktales of many cultures, is rooted in the story of the spirit of a deceased person who bestows benefits on the one responsible for his burial. In the prototypical story, the protagonist is a traveler who encounters the corpse of a debtor, to whom the honor of proper burial has been denied. Carrying the benefits of good fortune forward, the music of the Grateful Dead follows this tale and brings people together to celebrate joy and kindness.
Don’t miss this opportunity to have a blast with fellow ‘Deadheads’ as we get down on “Shakedown Street”! Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased at www.earlvvilleoperahouse.com, or by calling 315-691-3550.
