NORWICH – The housing issue remains a top concern for county residents and business owners as the need for home repairs and housing the elderly and homeless continue to grow.
One Norwich resident and Norwich Homes Movement LLC business owner Martha Ryan, has been devoted to buying and fixing up houses in the area for 18 years and this week she looks forward to inviting the public to her housing information session.
The session will be from 5 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, at the SUNY Morrisville Norwich campus in the community room. Reservations can be emailed to Norwichhomesmovement@gmail.com.
“Come and listen, even if people aren't going to invest, come and listen to the stories, maybe a lender or insurance agent or real estate agent will attend and share ideas to change the conversation from 'not being able to do anything' to 'yes we can, lets just find a way','” said Ryan.
“House renovation is really cool,” she said. “This is a passion of mine, although I cannot solve all of the housing issues in Chenango County, I have chosen to use my passion and my talent to bring a little piece to the solution,” she said.
“I wish I could buy ten houses at a time but one at a time will do,” she added.
“We have the power to do beautiful things, sometimes it’s a little difficult, but we have the power to do it,” Ryan said.
