NORWICH – In the final regular season game, the Norwich Purple Tornado football team hosted the Chenango Valley Warriors, where they came away with a big 46-12 victory on senior night. Norwich also finished the 2024 season undefeated at home with wins against Sus Valley, Union-Endicott, Oneonta, and now the Warriors on their new turf field.

“ You tell the team all week, the one game that the seniors always remember is senior night and we wanted to send them off with a victory and we did that tonight, which is one of our goals,” Norwich head coach Mike Chrystie said.

Congratulations to the Norwich senior football players and cheerleaders; Steven Dowdall, Braden Hagenbuch, Zakkery Meyers, Braedon Baker, Hayden Franklin, Jack Barnes, Drew Westervelt, Mitchell Collins, Daytona Fowlston, Janiah Miller and Carlie Gale.

Norwich piled up points drive after drive with 20 points in the first half to shut out CV 20-0 at halftime before outscoring them 26-6 in the third quarter. Zack Parker and Braden Hagenbuch traded touchdowns with Hagenbuch scoring four from the ground, and Parker with two rushing and one receiving touchdown. Hagenbuch finished with 24 carries for 232 yards while Parker had three carries for 96 yards and caught two receptions for 29 yards.
