WEBSTER – Over the weekend, Norwich’s Nina Kman swam in the NYSPHSAA girls swim championship, held at the Webster Aquatic Center. This states run came after Kman became an eight-time sectionals champion, which she holds the most sectional titles at Norwich High School.
She made the top 30 in the 200 freestyle during Friday’s preliminaries with a time of 1:59.47 for 28th place and in 28th is where she finished in Saturday’s finals (2:00.03). Kman missed qualifying for the 500 freestyle. However, in both events, she is the fastest female swimmer in Section IV, which is a huge accomplishment for Kman and for the Norwich Purple Tornado girls swim team.
Kman started swimming at a young age and has come a long way since then, and her team couldn’t be more proud of her and all she was able to accomplish, even coming back from injury as well. Kman does plan to swim in college, wherever her search takes her. All in all, Kman’s accomplishments and self leaves behind a strong legacy for the Norwich Purple Tornado girls swim program that will be remembered for a lifetime.
Congratulations, Nina and best of luck in all your future endeavors.
