NORWICH — Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Chenango County invites the community to join their annual meeting from 6 to 8 p.m., December 5, at the Canasawacta Country Club, located at 261 County Road 44 in Norwich.
CCE Chenango 4-H Natural Resources Educator Erica Clark said this year’s meeting will include their 109th year of service to the county, the annual election for board of directors' vacancies, sharing of staff successes and a catered dinner consisting of healthy choices such as Barbecue pork, salad, roasted potatoes and more.
The deadline to register is December 1st and fee is $30. Register at ccechenango.org.
“CCE of Chenango offers many free or low-cost workshops from Agriculture Education, Forestry and Natural Resource support, Horticulture, Nutrition through Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP-ED), Expanded Food and Nutrition Education (EFNEP), Grow Cook Serve Program and 4-H adventures,” said Clark.
4-H Supervisor Kristi Gorrell said 4-H is America's largest youth development organization and empowers young people with skills to lead a lifetime.
“Whether that skill is raising and showing animals, perfecting their public speaking, or immersing themselves in nature and outdoor activities, 4-H encourages kids to make the best better,” said Gorrell. “Chenango County is home to hundreds of youth doing just that.”
