NORWICH – The 2024 Norwich Family YMCA Turkey Trot 5K run, held on Sunday, November 24, marked the 43rd year in the making, which saw its largest number of participants since before COVID with 354 registered runners. Despite a snow storm that occurred on Thursday night into Friday morning with power outages and trees down, the weekend looked bright with the sun shining on Sunday afternoon.

Out of the 354 total runners, 323 finished the 5K, which theme was the “Twist and Trot,” with 157 females and 166 males. The youngest runner was four years old and the oldest was 83, showing a range of active community members.

The overall winner of this year’s Turkey Trot was Norwich High School’s very own cross country and track and field athlete Caden Sutton with a time of 18:21, followed by his brother Nic Sutton. Nicole Jeffrey, Norwich alum, was the first overall female runner. Please note that Caden and Nicole are not included in their age bracket because they are overall winners and age bracket winners are separate.
