NORWICH — The Norwich Business Improvement District (BID) will be kicking off the holiday season with the 29th annual Chobani Parade of Lights at 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 30 in downtown Norwich.
The annual parade is seeing its biggest year yet with over 125 businesses, organizations, schools, nonprofits, churches, families, public safety organizations, clubs, and more registered.
BID Board Member Mindy Chawgo said Santa Claus will be coming to town that evening as well, and will be stopping at his igloo on North Broad Street to take pictures with local children. Santa will return to his igloo each week leading up to Christmas, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays and 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
Attendees can keep warm while they watch the dazzling display of lights with hot cocoa provided by Nina's Pizzeria and hot cocoa and cookies provided by NBT Bank.
The annual parade has become a community tradition of coming together to celebrate and enjoy what the area has to offer. Chawgo said the event has even begun to draw businesses from outside of Chenango County to participate.
