OV Girls Fall To Stockbridge Valley To Start 2024 Season

MADISON – The Otselic Valley Vikings girls basketball team kicked off its 2024 season with the first game of the Madison tip-off tournament against Stockbridge Valley. OV fell 38-28 on Monday evening.

OV held a brief 17-16 halftime lead with their best play in the second quarter, where they outscored Stockbridge Valley 11 to 4. However, the Vikings struggled in the second half and were unable to catch back up.

Junior guard Miranda Hackett led the Vikings with 12 points. She also added eight steals, six rebounds, and put up two three-pointers. Emma Rooker scored four points and had three rebounds. Katie Kenyon finished with three points and had one rebound and steal. Lily Palmer, Riley Bartlett, and Gracie Rooker all contributed with two points. Caylene Russell added four rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.

OV wraps up the Madison tournament on Wednesday, where they could play Cincinnatus, who lost to Madison in the first game.
