NEW BERLIN - Celebrations will be abundant at New Berlin’s 12th annual Christmas Tree lighting event starting at 6 p.m., Sunday, December 8, located at Hyde Park on North Main Street.

The event will provide free entertainment, food and drinks, along with Santa and Mrs. Claus ready for photos and Christmas wishes.

"The Otsego School of Dance will perform two dance numbers and also the Community Choir will sing," said Village of New Berlin Mayor Peter Lennon.

Lennon said this year he anticipates an "over the top" lighting display as Artist and Director of the New Berlin Cultural Center Andreia Keller is in charge.

"The lights were put up a few days ago, so everything is progressing nicely," he added.

Last year, Lennon said they had about 1,000 in attendance and noted Hyde Park offers a safe and spacious alternative with two spruce trees and gazebo for musical events.
