NORWICH — The Emmanuel Episcopal Church, also known as “The Soul Kitchen,” located at 37 West Main Street in Norwich, provided their annual free Thanksgiving dinner and this year served up 935 meals.
John Klockowski, who runs the dinner along with Gary Brookins, said it was a fast-paced, exciting day.
“Our volunteers were awesome, given the adverse weather conditions at the start of the day,” said Klockowski. “We ended up serving 935 meals.”
“We were completely cleaned out with the dinners,” he said. “About 560 dinners went out for delivery, about 250 dinners were pick-up and the remaining dinners were served in house.
