Greene Girls Defeat UV To Start MAC Play

GREENE – The Greene Trojans girls basketball team hosted the Unadilla Valley Storm to begin MAC league play. Greene earned their third win of the season with a 48-20 victory.

Both teams had a slow start until Greene ignited its offense and continued a strong defensive stand. Greene’s Josie Dutcher was electric, leading the team with 21 points with three three’s, eight rebounds to go with four assists and steals apiece. Claire Flanagan also knocked in three three-pointers and finished with a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Cali Knapp had six points from behind the arc as Mya Leggett-Carlin had five points, going 3-for-4 at the free-throw line. Lexi Cloyd made three free throws.

UV was led by senior Natalie Crandall with eight points. Shyla Roberts finished with six points as Adrienne Hodge, Emmalyn Montgomery, and Daniell all chipped in two points.
