JOHNSON CITY – On Thursday, the Greene Trojans girls basketball team traveled to Johnson City and faced non-league opponent Chenango Valley in the opening round of the Mark Woitach girls tip-off tournament. Greene fell short 45-40 against a tough STAC league opponent.

Both teams played a steady first half with CV leading by one, 21-20 at the break. Intensity increased in the second half, but CV continued to hold on to the lead with Greene able to keep up but unable to make big stops. The Trojans were unable to stop CV’s leading scorer, who hit five three’s to keep her team in charge throughout the contest.
