CANASTOTA – On Thursday, the Norwich Purple Tornado wrestling team traveled to take on Section III’s Canastota, where they fell 46-28.

Maverick Beckwith improved to 7-0 on the season with a 3:42 pin against Brennan Soucia. Bryce Wellington earned his third win of the season with a 18-7 major decision over Landen Lawrence.

Freshman Kolby Vielandi pinned Loagen Howe in 3:17 as Joey Parker picked up his first win with a 2:47 pin against Levi Case. Jack Barnes pinned Luke Gaiser in 3:22.

Some extra matches include Malakai Hagenbuch with a 1:33 pin against Michael Wilkenson while Blayne Sutton earned his first win with a 3:46 pin against Trenton Cornish. Cyrus Graham had a quick :45 pin against Tyler Dillion.

Norwich hosts their annual Coach K duals this Saturday, starting at 9 a.m.
