UV//GMU/Norwich Bowlers Split With Oxford/Greene To Start 2024 Season

NEW BERLIN – After both teams competed in the Crimson Knights tip-off tournament over the weekend, the Unadilla Valley/GMU/Norwich bowling teams hosted Oxford/Greene to kick off the official season. Both teams split the match as the Oxford/Greene girls won and the Storm boys won.

Girls:

The Oxford/Greene girls were led by Shynia Valmy with a 503 series, including a 190 in her final game. Danica Fowlston followed with a 462 as Lily Baxter rolled a 442 series and Abigail Roth with a 440. Cassidy Johns finished with a 377. The team’s total score was a 2224 against UV/GMU/N’s 2189. Oxford/Greene won two of the three games and won the overall series.

UV/GMU/Norwich took the first game and saw impressive bowling from Shelby Rose, who led all female bowlers with a 557 with two 188s and an 181. Lee Clipston followed with a 468 as Natalie Smith finished with a 397 series. Layla Stevens bowled a 392 series and Kylie Menard rolled two games with a 375 series as Amelia Beckwith finished the third game with a 140.

Boys:

The UV/GMU/Norwich boys had several key returners shine, especially Dawson Robinson with an outstanding 727 series, including a 244, a 204, and a 279. Teagin Eccleston also put up big numbers with a 705 series with games of 202, 214, and an all-around high of a 289.
