SHERBURNE – The Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves girls basketball team hosted their annual tip-off tournament over the weekend, featuring Norwich, Unadilla Valley, and Richfield Springs. Norwich JV and Varsity teams won both tournaments.

Friday:

Norwich 49- RS/ODY 39

The Norwich Purple Tornado girls basketball team led 39-9 at halftime with posting 23 points in the first quarter, but almost let the big lead slip away with Richfield Springs’ top sister duo pushing through late in the second half. Norwich’s Josey Ryan led the team with 15 points, Brynley Ryan with 13 points, and Emma Urgo finished with 11 points.

UV 51- S-E 27

The Unadilla Valley Storm defeats the home team with strong team effort. S-E was held to single digit scoring in all four quarters, where four of their seven points in the third quarter came from the free-throw line. UV scored a team-high 16 points in the final eight minutes with Kora Johnson scoring eight of her total 13 points. Adrienne Hodge led the Storm with 15 points, knocking in five three-pointers. Johnson and Natalie Crandall both finished with 13. S-E’s Alyse Brown finished with eight points as Claire Barth and Morgan Mikalunas contributed with six points apiece.
