Norwich And Oxford-Greene Winter Track Competes In Afternoon Session Of 607 Invite

CORTLAND – On Saturday, the Norwich Purple Tornado and Oxford-Greene winter track teams traveled to SUNY Cortland for the 607 Invitational. Both teams competed in the 2 p.m. session.

NORWICH:

Girls:

The Norwich girls took third as a team in the 4x800 meter relay with a team of Annie Boland, Kyra Brunick-Davis, McKenzie Hagenbuch, and Malea Sutton, finishing with a time of 12:13.38.

Hagenbuch then went on to earn second in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:30.97 as Boland finished 18th. Sutton came in 13th in the 1500 meter run with a time of 6:29.55.

Ava Cirigliano took third in the 300 meter dash with a time of 45.44 seconds. Tristan Monroe finished 15th and also competed in the 55 meter dash (21st) and in the long jump (ninth place). Brianna Cirigliano came in 26th in the 300 meter dash and finished 23rd in the 55 meters.

Kyra Brunick-Davis and Laci Zieno both ran the 600 meter event, where Brunick-Davis finished 11th and Zieno 19th.

Raegan Decker and Lara Tefft led the Norwich girls in the fielding events. Tefft won the weight throw event with a top throw of 38 feet, seven and 3/4 inches. She also took second in the shot put with a throw of 31-8.50. Decker finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 30 feet, one and a half inches. She came in fifth in the long jump (12-10.75).
