CHENANGO FORKS – After falling short to Chenango Valley the night before, the Norwich Purple Tornado girls basketball team traveled to Chenango Forks on Wednesday, where they dropped 56-26 in the STAC contest.
Chenango Valley played consistently, while Norwich’s top leading scorers were limited. Emma Urgo led Norwich with 10 points, where she played steady in the first through three quarters. Norwich went to the free-throw line several times in the fourth quarter, aside from two field goals, where the team only hit 6-of-23 attempts throughout the game.
Brynley Ryan, Kerragan Reid, and Talia Bookamer all finished with three points as Josey Ryan, Cally Richardson, and Emma Koerts were all held to two points each. Raegan Doliver added one free-throw.
Norwich (2-3) heads into non-league matchup at Moravia on December 23 at 6 p.m.

Norwich boys defeat Chenango Valley to stay unbeaten
CHENANGO VALLEY – The Norwich Purple Tornado boys basketball team improved to 5-0 and picked up a STAC league win in the 66-56 victory against Chenango Valley. Norwich will take on MAC league opponent and defending league champs Delhi on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
