SOUTH OTSELIC – The Otselic Valley Vikings boys basketball team played their third of four opening games at home as they welcomed McGraw for a CCL battle. The Vikings earned the 59-48 win.
OV took a 25-15 lead at halftime and were able to maintain steady play to keep the lead, even with the Eagles fighting back in the second half. The Vikings went to the free-throw line 32 times in the contest, where they were able to make crucial free-throws when it mattered most, going 23-for 32 (71 %).
The Vikings were led by Owen Davis, who dished out 23 points and had nine rebounds. Caleb Loomis added 11 points with five assists. Lukas Schieferstein finished with 10 points and four rebounds. Austin Brown, Ryley Palmer, and Payne Wood all contributed with five points apiece.
OV (2-2) will spend their Christmas break in the Fabius-Pompey tournament on December 28 and 30.
